Every Generation and Nia Project host the African History Month Inter Schools Challenge in Ipswich

Black History Month this year saw a successful collaboration with Every Generation and Nia Project, an organisation founded by Del White in Ipswich to educate and inform people of Ipswich's black presence in its history.

Using the 100 Great Black Britons website, we formulated a University Challenge type competition that saw 5 schools in Ipswich take up the challenge to see what how much they knew about the individuals featured on the 100 Great Black Britons site. One morning in October, St Joseph's, Northgate High, Chantry, Thurleston and Holywells schools, their teachers and supporters gathered in St Joseph's library (many thanks to them for hosting the day) to see which school would emerge as champion.

Many congratulations to Northgate High, who won, and well done to the other schools who did very well by giving their best on the day!
